The WLUGSA Board of Directors (BoD) plays an important role in providing direction for the GSA both politically and financially. The BoD also ensures that graduate students are represented within the WLU community and that their issues are addressed.

Board members enable two-way communication between graduate students, departments/programs, and the GSA, ensuring that graduate students are aware of GSA and university issues and happenings, and bringing feedback to the Board so that all GSA decisions are based on the interests of graduate students.

Board Structure

Each faculty is entitled to a minimum of one seat on the board. A second seat is allocated if a faculty has between 51 and 250 students and a third seat is allocated if the faculty counts more than 250 students. Directors are elected from amongst the Faculty Council representatives for each Faculty at the Governance Orientation day on September 25th.

Get Involved

If you are interested in being on the Board of Directors, contact your program administrative assistant about being your program representative on your Faculty Council. Councillors are elected from within each program, and Directors are elected from the Councils.
