Position Overview

The Mini Market is a food security initiative of the GSA located on Waterloo campus. We are seeking compassionate and reliable individuals to join our team. The ideal candidates will have a strong commitment to serving others, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively and independently in a fast-paced environment. As an employee of The Mini Market, you will be responsible for various tasks related to food collection, storage, distribution, and customer service. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer service

  • Food collection and storage

  • Cash handling and transaction management

  • Cleaning and dishwashing

  • Team collaboration

  • Adherence to privacy and confidentiality standards

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in customer service or public facing role.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Positive attitude that creates a safe and welcoming space.

  • Strong work ethic.

  • Must be willing and able to complete Safe Food Handling Course (paid for by the GSA).

  • This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Terms of Employment 

Term: August, 2025 until December 2025 (with the opportunity to re-apply for Winter Term and Spring/Summer term). Must be a registered Laurier student for the entire duration of the term.

Rate of Pay: Starting wage is $22.05/hour
