Veritas Café Staff
Position Overview
Veritas Café is a social-enterpise of the GSA located on Waterloo campus. We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team. Ideal candidates will have a passion for providing excellent customer service, an interest in food and beverages, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. As a Veritas Café employee, you will be responsible for serving our community in a caring and compassionate way, preparing food and drinks, and maintaining a clean and organized space.
Key Responsibilities
Front-line customer service
Food and beverage preparation
Cash handling and transaction management
Cleaning and dishwashing
Team collaboration
Qualifications
Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or customer service role is great, but we'd love to hear about any experience you have in customer service.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
Must be willing and able to complete SmartServe and Safe Food Handling Courses (paid for by the GSA)
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Terms of Employment
Term: August, 2025 until December 2025 (with the opportunity to re-apply for Winter Term and Spring/Summer term). Must be a registered Laurier student for the entire duration of the term.
Rate of Pay: Starting wage is $22.05/hour
