The goal of this community is to support one another, help create meaningful connections, encourage personal growth and development and foster a safe and inclusive space for Laurier graduate students.

How do I join?

All enrolled graduate students will receive an invite to their Laurier email. Check your other folders/junk if you do not see it.

To create an account, you must use your @mylaurier.ca email.

Is it free?

Yes, there is no cost to joining the Graduate Commons. It's another perk of your GSA membership with thanks to the Student Affairs team for additional funding

Who can join?

Only registered Laurier graduate students can join the community.

Who can access the community?

The Graduate Commons is a third party platform created by the GSA. It is for graduate students only and only registered graduate students at Laurier will be admitted.

What is a verified user?

A verified user or Commons Crew Member as we like to refer to them, is a student leader who has undergone training to help facilitate and moderate the community. Feel free to connect and reach out to them.

How do I start a group?

We are not yet taking requests for program/cohort groups, stay tuned for more details.

What is the privacy?

Account Information

The app, hosted by Honeycommb Inc., is GDPR-compliant and account details are hosted on a secure server.

Content

The Graduate Commons is a closed community of grad students hosted and administered by the GSA. All posts are visible by graduate students in the community and administrative staff of the GSA.

As with any online community we recommend using good judgement on details you choose to share and to respect the privacy of others on the platform.

Content that is unsafe, harmful, or that violates the Non-Academic Student Code of Conduct will be reviewed and appropriate action will be taken.

I have an account but am having trouble logging in. What can I do?

If you've created your account with your @mylaurier.ca and are having trouble logging in, first try resetting your password. If you still are unable to log in, please reach out to gradcommons@wlugsa.ca.

How do I change my password?

To change your password, visit your "Settings" within the community. On desktop you will find "Settings" by clicking on your "Profile icon" on the top right. On the app/mobile you will find "Settings" by clicking the "Home icon" on the bottom left and then clicking the "Dropdown/Hamburger menu" on the top right.

If you forgot your password, reset it on the login page.

Who do I contact for support?

First, visit the Help Center within the app. On desktop you will find "Help Center" by clicking on your "Profile icon" on the top right and scrolling to the bottom. On the app/mobile you will find "Help Center" by clicking the "Home icon" on the bottom left and then clicking the "Dropdown/Hamburger menu" on the top right and scrolling to the bottom.

Can I stay in the Commons after graduation?

At this time, the platform is for enrolled graduate students only. If you are interested in remaining in the community, you may email gradcommons@wlugsa.ca.
